Directions

Finstown is halfway between Kirkwall and Stromness on the main road.

Coming from Stromness.

Travel towards Kirkwall. When you come to Finstown you will go down a hill and go past a turning to your left. After this you will see the Bay and a large car park. Beyond the car park and it’s adjacent public toilets, you will see a long low building extending from the road to the shore. Turn left immediately behind this building between it and the next house into a narrow lane. Immediately ahead you will see a gate with Shorelines Accommodation written on it. Your dedicated parking space is in front of this.

From Kirkwall.

Drive out of town on the main road towards Stromness. When you arrive in Finstown continue until you see a road joining from the left and immediately afterwards, also on the left, Essons Garage.

A few meters beyond the garage forecourt, you will see a narrow lane on the right between a light coloured house and a low stone building. Turn right into this and you will see the Shorelines Accommodation sign in front of you. (If you come to a large car park you have overshot the lane and need to turn round, in the car park, and return, turning left behind the single storey stone building.)
